One of the Best Pre-Workouts I’ve Had

I have recently been taking a new pre-workout that is now among my favorites (I’ve tried Amino Energy, N.O. Xplode, Mr. Hyde, Condense, C4, ON Gold Standard, Gameday, Volt, ENGN, BANG, and a bunch of others I can’t remember because they weren’t that memorable. It’s called PreSeries LEAN by Transparent Labs. Below I will touch on the product itself and taste. So keep reading if you are looking for a good pre-workout!

PreSeries LEAN is clinically dosed; there is over 16 grams of ingredients in each serving- all of which have been measured for your bodies’ best performance! A lot of pre-workouts are under-dosed with beta-alinine and bcaa’s, which are some of the most important ingredients in a pre-workout. Also, all of Transparent Labs products contain no dyes, sweeteners, fillers, or other additives. That’s pretty awesome! When I learned of this it really impressed me. You don’t realize how much dyes, sweeteners, and fillers companies put into their products, so they can sell more of them. Yeah those additives may make them taste better and look more appealing, but you’re putting a bunch of unnecessary chemicals into your body, and at the end of the day it’s about what the pre-workout does, not how it tastes or looks.

As for taste, I’m gonna be honest here. No, it’s not the best tasting pre-workout. It has a sour, slightly bitter aftertaste, but this is because there are no artificial ingredients! Bcaa’s, beta-alinine, and citrulline malate all naturally taste sour. You get use to the taste after a few days, and realize it’s worth it based on how it does in the gym.

*Side note: I only take half a serving (half a scoop) and it does good for me. Also, allow yourself about 30 min to drink it before hitting the gym, so you don’t run into feeling too full of water or get an achy stomach. There’s a lot of ingredients in there! Gotta allow yourself time to digest.

  1. I have had one pre workout twice, the firsr one I was soooo off put but the flavor! I mixed it with water and it was horrible, the second one I mixed it with coconut water with pineapple and it was slightly less gross. What do you mix it with?

    1. What pre-workout did you try? Some taste better than others. This pre-workout does not taste that great because it is in its natural state- with no artificial sweeteners or flavors.

I mix my pre with water. While they may not always taste amazing, you have to remember that the function of the pre is essentially more important than the taste. 🙂

However, if you find that mixing your pre-workout with a little bit of juice helps, then do it. Or explore other pre-workouts. Optimum Nutrition offers a variety of delicious flavors in their Amino Energy pre-workout. Plus it’s pretty “clean.” It is more of a basic pre-workout.

      I hope this helps! 🙂

      1. It just surprised me how bad it tasted, I wasn’t expecting it! I try to take as little supplementation as possible, only protein shakes every now and then when I am coming short of it. I don’t actually remember the brand because it was a free sample. Thanks for the tip anyway 🙂
