Hello! And welcome to my blog! This is me, Hannah. And this is my mission/motto: Simplifying a Fitness Lifestyle™

So here’s my story:

When I first arrived at college seven years ago, I could have never imagined that I would soon take up weight lifting, develop a crazy passion for it, and more recently, begin an entrepreneurial journey with it. Let me tell you why.

Growing up, I frequently fluctuated between being chubby and “normal” weight. I dabbled in soccer since I was a kiddo, and continued to play throughout my years in high school, but wasn’t that great — I like to blame it on the fact that I’m severely clumsy and much less coordinated than your average person (although I like to think resistance training has helped 😉 ).

Back in late 2012, when I began my college years, my life had drastically changed. I wasn’t actively engaging in exercise (playing soccer), I wasn’t eating well (rarely consumed whole foods, ate mostly processed foods — and a lot of it). I would go into the big dining hall and feel extremely overwhelmed with all the food choices, treating it as an all you can eat buffet — eating whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted — not thinking it would “catch up” with me.

But it did.

Halfway through my freshman year in college, I had surpassed the “freshman 15”. I had gained over 20lbs in just a few months.

So I did what most women do —  I started to torture myself with cardio, followed by several ab exercises, and maybe a few dumbbell exercises (if I was feeling bold). I did this routine several times a week without changing my eating habits and would wonder why I wasn’t seeing any progress.

It was around this time, I had begun dating my husband, who encouraged me to give resistance training a try. So I did.

I was very intimidated by others at first (not many women were in the weight room back then), plus I had no clue what I was doing, and what I did know, I would stick to it because it was familiar and I was scared to venture out, learn, and try new exercises. I had begun to lose weight, but wasn’t seeing the results of muscle definition that I so desperately wanted, because my nutrition was still very much lacking.

Here we are seven years later, and I have achieved more than I thought I ever could! It wasn’t a quick or easy process — it has been a journey of continuously learning, trials and errors — both mentally and physically.

I have truly found an enjoyable, realistic balance in life with food and fitness; and it’s my passion to share my experience with you, and my hope to inspire you to live a healthier, happier lifestyle.

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE — as cliché as it sounds, it’s true!! Set your mind, set your goals, take action, and DO IT!

Nutrition truly is important; it’s a shame how deceptive the food industry is.
