Let’s Talk About Tacos

I enjoy Chipotle every now and then, but most of the time, I prefer to make my own tacos/ burritos- that way you know how fresh the ingredients are, and you have complete control over everything that gets put in and left out. Plus, once you purchase all the ingredients, you have enough left over to make the meal again, sometimes several times over! Totally worth it.

Below is a simple idea on how to make your own tacos at home. This was somewhat of a cheat meal for me, however, I have suggested an alternative healthy option under each ingredient, so you can enjoy this meal guilt free.

Thin cut sirloin, seasoned with salt, pepper, and a little bit of Weber’s salt free steak seasoning. Alternative: Grilled chicken breast strips.

Plain flour tortillas. Alternative: Flatout wraps (Kroger, Walmart).

Jalopeno pepper jack cheese. Alternative: Low-fat mozzarella.

Avocado. Alternative: none if you’re trying to watch your fat intake.

Ta da! Added some corn, refried beans, and jasmine rice. I mentioned this was sorta a cheat meal right?

P.S. Don’t forget the Siracha!
