Is It Too Late Now to Say Sorry?

I’ve been slackin’ on my posts lately, and haven’t produced what I have been wanting and planning too. Please bear with me. I have things that I plan to share that should be helpful. There has been a lot going on within the past weeks- I’m sure you can relate. It seems like things get crazier after the holidays.

So I am a little behind in my progression into cutting… I developed bronchitis about a week ago, and as a result, wasn’t able to go to the gym during that time. Ah! You know how your body feels really bad when you’re sick, but your mind is anxious because being sick is holding you back from going to the gym? So frustrating.

Monday was my first day of feeling ‘normal’ again- so I hit the gym and did legs. My lungs were still tight and congested; but it felt good to get energy out after being restricted to the bed and couch for days on end.

I took my time on Monday to really focus on contraction when I was doing squats, stiff-legged deadlifts, hamstring curls, leg extensions and so on. It was a great workout. Despite being sick, I think it did my body good to rest for several days. Our nervous system needs a break every now and then.

Anyways, I didn’t foam roll afterwards like I should have and was majorly effected with soreness yesterday. I felt bad for the people behind me going up the four flights of stairs too to get to class. I was so slow haha.

However, I did foam roll before working out yesterday and man do I feel less sore today! If you know you’re going to have a really intense workout, try foam rolling before and after; it helps tremendously with lessening soreness. I try to foam roll especially on the days I do back or legs.

Hope everyone is having a good week and killin’ it in the gym!

    1. I have found that foam rolling and stretching with bands really help to get your legs/glutes warmed up before diving into your workout. That’s good you’re at least rolling afterwards though. I hope it helps with your soreness next time haha. 🙂

  1. I love my foam roller! I used to only foam roll after workouts. Now I do it every single night before bed. Even if I didn’t workout that day. It makes a huge difference.
